When forced to move my cartoon archives in 2002, I converted them all from MS Access to MySQL and thankfully so! The heavier duty database system was able to handle a much greater load, allowing me to create one of the most interactive cartoons in cyberspace.
Convert current date to MySQL format
Use smallest datatype
Declaring your columns NOT NULL
Format your dates in your SQL
